Re-enactments are attempts at living an event authentically. These gory battles are re-told both by the winners and more often the losers. Naturally, degradation of the actual battles is bound to occur and political maneuvering can further pollute the forgotten truths.
Here, wars’ puffs of smoke are hot pink and associations to this color have an aggression suppressant quality. With my paintings and even more eroded embroideries, I seek to de -romanticize these events to render them useless to history as the actual popular renditions already are.
